★November 29th(Fri) Tea Ceremony and Kanazawa Geiko (Geisha) Experience

Experiancing the depth of “Omotenashi” culture ! 

Asanogawa Enyukai Hall is organizing another Geiko (Geisha) event on November 29th.

At this event, you will enjoy two omotenashi cultures of Kanazawa, the tea ceremony and the geiko. After enjoying the tea ceremony, you will enjoy elegant dances and music performances by geiko and interact with them. Why don’t you take this opportunity to experience the deep culture of Kanazawa?
English guide is included during the whole event. 

Tea Ceremony Experience

After learning the spirit of hospitality contained in the hanging scrolls and flowers from a tea master, you will see master’s tea making and taste sweets and matcha tea.

Kanazawa Geiko Experience

In Kanazawa, there are three chaya districts, Higashi, Nishi and Kazue-machi, which have been around since the Edo period, and about 35 geiko have inherited the traditional art and hospitality of chaya culture. Enjoy the graceful dances and the music by Kanazawa geiko who devote themselves to it every day, play a Ozashiki party game and experiance taiko drumming. You can also have time to ask questions to geiko and taking a commemorative photo with them.

Note:
1) The geiko show is performed by 2 Geiko. Jikata who sings and plays shamisen at the back, and Tachikata who dances at the front.  
2) Children aged 6 under cannot participate in the event.
3) Please wear socks when you join the event.
