The chaya geiko entertainment venues of Kanazawa generally have a strict policy requiring any new customer to be vouched for by an existing customer, which means that ordinary members of the public never get the opportunity to enjoy an ozashiki party. At the same time, we often hear from visitors to the Chaya districts of Kanazawa, asking where they could see geiko performances and experience geiko hospitality.

The Kanazawa Asanogawa Enyukai Hall is a museum of Kanazawa’s Chaya district culture and geiko (geisha) entertainment, and our second floor is equipped with an authentic geiko stage and an ozashiki party space. To help meet these visitor requests for geiko encounters, we now use this floor to provide an opportunity for visitors to experience an ozashiki party and the polished skills of these performers for themselves.
